Creating a protective barrier around your pet's health with a monthly parasite prevention plan.
Fleas and ticks are a regular annoyance for pet parents. Fleas can be incredibly difficult to get rid of once they have taken up residence in a home. There are a wide variety of flea and tick products on the market. Be sure to speak with your veterinarian to work out the best option for you.
It is relatively easy to determine if your dog has fleas. Check their ears for signs of scratching, redness, blood and flea dirt. On their stomach and around the tail area there could be a lot of redness, and it may be bumpy. You may also notice them on the stomach if they are crawling around. Ticks are a bit harder to see, but the most common sign would be a lump where the tick has buried itself into the skin.
Many great products can be given to your dog all year to prevent them such as topical treatments. Prevention options could vary depending on your dog’s lifestyle. The veterinarian would discuss with you the risk and treatment options.
There are several different treatment options – some oral, some topical. The right product for your dog will depend on various factors which your veterinarian will discuss.
